Materials
The official regulations state that cornhole boards should be made from hardwood plywood but for recreational play, plastic boards are available.
Wooden boards have a classic, attractive look, and they do not allow bags to slide off the board surface easily.
On the downside though, these boards are heavier, more expensive, and are more demanding when it comes to their care and maintenance.
On the other hand, plastic boards cost less, have a more portable design, hold up well to the weather elements and require little care and maintenance.

Regulation Size and Dimensions of cornhole Board
The wooden board should measure 48” in length by 24” in width and should have a minimum thickness of ½” with cross section backing, and each board should weigh no less than 25lbs.
As for the hole, it should measure 6” in diameter, centered from each side edge and located 9” from the top of the board.
The front of the platform should stand 2.5” to 4” tall (measuring from the ground to the top of the playing surface), and the back of the board should sit 12” off the ground.

With all screw holes puttied, the cornhole board should be sanded to a smooth texture on the surface and around all edges, including inside the circle.
